Introduction
On this bi-lingual website I’m trying to uncover the history of Bazooka Joe chewing gum in The Netherlands from 1958 till 1976, as complete as I can. The Belgian history starts in 1961 and will be treated as well. Adjustments and remarks are very much appreciated.

Bazooka (The Atom) kauwgom werd vermoedelijk in 1954 geïntroduceerd, met gag-stripjes van Henry van Carl Anderson. De prijs was 5 cent voor een dubbelstuk en in 1958 begon de promotie pas.

1961 is het interessantste jaar in de Nederlandse Bazooka Joe-geschiedenis:de Nederlandse Bazooka Club wordt opgericht.Die was meteen een succes! Lidmaatschapskaarten werden uitgegeven.
1961 was the most interesting year in the Dutch Bazooka Joe-history.The Dutch Bazooka Club was founded,and an immediate succes! Membership cards were issued.
1962
Waarschijnlijk werd In 1962 de H-2 serie op de markt gebracht.Die is gelijk aan de Amerikaanse serie 2-1959,alleen werden daarvan vermoedelijk slechts 28 gags gebruikt.
It was probably in the year 1962 that the Dutch H-2 series appeared.This series matches the American 2-1959 series, though so far only 28 gags seemed to be used in the Netherlands.
1963
Het jaar 1963 is bijzonder. De 100.000e Bazooka Joe Club-lid wordt bereikt! De H-6 serie wordt uitgebracht, met een aantal (30?) gags uit de Amerikaanse 1-61 serie.

1964
Niet veel nieuws in dit jaar.De Amerikaanse 1-60 serie wordt nog steeds herdrukt,dit keer met het nieuwe posttarief van 15 cent.Kinderen houden wedstrijden: wie blaast de grootste ballon.
Not much news that year. The American 1-60 series is still reprinted, but this time with the new mail-postage 15 cents. Children have contests: blowing the biggest bubble.
1965
Vijf jaar Bazooka Joe Club:dát moet gevierd worden met een herdenkingsmunt,in een fraaie kartonnen houder.Bazooka Blony blijft niet achter en brengt 5 munten uit van zeehelden.

1966
Het posttarief stijgt naar 20 cent. De gags worden kleiner! 6,5 x 5 centimeter. België start zijn eigen gags ,in 2 talen, Nederlands en Frans..In 1966 gebruiken Nederland en België de Amerikaanse D1-62 serie, 32 gags.

1967
In 1967 komt Bazooka met een nieuwe verkoop-automaat met de tekst bubblegum en spaar de omslagen voor prachtige kadoo’s.De zoon van wijlen Wesley Morse,Talley Morse, is een constante bron van inspiratie voor zijn vader.

Niet veel nieuws dat jaar. Een speciale munt werd uitgebracht, er waren reclame plaatjes voor club-artikelen.

Niet veel nieuws.een leuke enveloppe met verjaardags-rozetten verschijnt,en de promotie voor club-artikelen gaat door.

1971
Een jaar met weinig nieuws. De Amerikaanse 71-series werd in Nederland gebruikt, waarschijnlijk een serie van 45 gags.

1972
Een nieuw type verkoop-automaat verschijnt. Geen gags, maar reclame-plaatjes voor club-artikelen.

1973
Weinig te melden.lidmaatschapskaarten verschenen.Er waren waarschijnlijk nog meer dan 17.000 leden.
Not much to report. Membershipcards came out, perhaps there were still 17,000+ members.
1974
In 1974 was er een kleurwedstrijd,de nieuwe lidmaatschapskaarten kwamen uit, de Bazooka Club had meer dan 20.000 leden en de Magische Cirkel is nog altijd actief!
In 1974 there was a colouring-contest, new membership-cards came out, the Bazooka Club still has 20,000+ members, and the Magic Circle is still active!
1975
De Bazooka postbus verhuisd naar Rijswijk, 2 leuke stickers verschijnen en België komt met een raadseltjes-serie, waarvan tot op heden maar 7 gags getraceerd is.
In 1975 The Bazooka P.O.Box moves to Rijswijk, near The Hague, and 2 nice stickers came out. Belgium had a riddle-series, only 7 known yet.
1976
